I am a final year Psychology undergrad at the University of Surrey. I originally come from Cologne, Germany but moved to Kent, UK in 1994. My parents have always been a bit wild so my upbringing was different to everyone else's. A normal holiday to us was going to down a river in a canoe with the locals in Kenya and water nearly spilling over the edges as we were all crammed in and weighing it down. Instead of luxury hotels and extravagant tours, my brother and I were taken through bustling, hot markets in Sri Lanka teeming with brilliant colours, trinkets and food smells. I loved every second...
I am extremely eco-friendly and yes, I am the annoying person saying 'turn off the lights when you leave the room' and 'don't put too much in the kettle, save water!' I am also a firm believer in buying local produce and refuse to buy mass produced stuffs. Animal welfare is paramount in any food I eat. I have undertaken an independent hitch hike from Dover to Venice on no money and managed to raise £750 for charity - something I am very proud of. I love volunteer work and have been employed at both Kidscompany and LIFE. After I finish University I am hoping to obtain a graduate job where I can promote sustainability and/or travel through social media and let my passion grow.. Alternatively, I am looking to work for a travel agent that specialises in bespoke, carbon-neutral and off the beaten track adventures. drop me an email if you wish :) [email protected] |
